The Second Episcopal District
Carmen E. Leonard Williams was born in Mobile, AL.
She is the older of two daughters born to John W. and Ellen Leonard of Daphne,
AL. After graduating from Fairhope High School, she matriculated at The
University of Alabama where she received a B.S. in elementary education.
Subsequently, she obtained a Masters Degree in elementary education from the
University of Alabama Birmingham. Mrs. Williams has educated students with love
in the states of Alabama, Florida, and Illinois for 26 years.
Throughout her lifetime, Mrs. Williams has served on many levels within the church. Most recently she has served the Ministers’ Spouses, Widows, and Widowers Department, the Missionary Department as well as the Children's Department – respectively.
Mrs. Williams is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and is married to Bishop Sylvester Williams, Sr., the 58th Bishop of the C. M. E. Church and the Presiding Prelate of the Second Episcopal District. They have three adult children: Samantha (Chris), Sylvia, and Sylvester II.
